About
Who runs this site
Reading Apps Compared is run by Unleash Literacy. We make a structured literacy app for dyslexic and struggling readers. We built this site to give parents a plain comparison of what each reading app actually teaches, with sources.
Disclosure
- We make one of the apps listed: Unleash Literacy. It is labelled "Ours" everywhere it appears.
- We rate it with the same method as everything else, and its page lists where it falls short.
- No affiliate links. We earn nothing when you sign up for any other app.
- No paid placement. No company can pay to be listed, ranked or reviewed.
- The app finder gives our app no extra weight. It uses the same ratings shown on every page.
How we check
Every listing is built from the maker's own pages, published scope and sequence documents, app store listings and independent sources such as Evidence for ESSA and the What Works Clearinghouse. Each app page lists its sources. Where we could not confirm something, we say "not published" rather than guess.
Everything was last checked in October 2026. Apps change, so prices and features may have moved since then.Read the full method.
Corrections
If you make one of these apps, or you spot something wrong or out of date, please tell us throughunleashliteracy.com and include a link to the source. We fix factual errors quickly and note the date.
